Assessing Resuscitation and Management Plans During an MPage Outage

MPages are screens and Views within PowerChart and FirstNet that use Web technologies. There may be times when the pages are unavailable due to partial system upgrades or outages.

Most MPages only display clinical information from elsewhere in the chart, and the information can be viewed there, e.g. Documentation, Orders, Results, Allergies, Problems Alerts & Diagnoses, Interactive View, etc.

Several types of documentation rely on MPage functionality to create new versions. For these staff must wait until the page function comes back on line in order to create these documents:

  • Resuscitation Plans

  • Mental Health Seclusion & Restraint documentation

  • Mental Health Legal forms

Management Plans and Resuscitation Plans do not have functionality that directly replaces the MPages as they are meant to show direct links to the most recent versions of these plans, but the actual plans can still be found in Power Chart and FirstNet.

Existence of Management Plans can be seen through the MP icon on Emergency Tracking Boards, and on the Problems, Alerts & Diagnoses tab in the patient chart. All Management Plans, Resuscitation Plans, and Long Term Blood Consents will have a corresponding Alert.

NOTE: Asthma Plans will not have an Alert

Asthma Action Plans do not all have a corresponding Alert, but will show on the FirstNet Tracking Boards as a puffer icon. This includes

  • Asthma Action Plan

  • Asthma Reducing Medication Plan

  • Pre School Wheeze Action Plan

To locate the plan:

  • Check the Problems, Alerts & Diagnoses for the presence of Management Plan alerts

    • Note for Asthma Plans you will not see an alert – check the Tracking Board in FirstNet or speak to the parents/carers about whether the patient has an Asthma Action Plan.

  • Go to Results, then All Results

  • Click the Procedure Selection button
