Complete the bedside handover following the standardised ISBAR Nursing bedside handover checklist (General Nursing and Mental Health nursing).
Record that the handover took place by documenting electronically following these steps:
- Click on Interactive View and I&O in the Menu
- Click on Quick view band and then on Bedside Handover checklist
- Click on insert Date & Time and adjust accordingly
- Complete the bedside handover checklist section by double clicking in the relevant cells
- Click on 'ISBAR Bedside checklist attended’ to see a reference to the ISBAR bedside checklist
- Click on the green tick to sign all entries
- A witness is required to complete this section. Select the clinician who you are completing the handover with.
- Click on Witness sign
- Enter the witness details and click Ok.
- Enter your details and click OK.
