Units of Measure

When prescribing medications, be aware that PowerChart recognises only one version of each unit of measure. This is why “IU” does not automatically convert to “International_Units” and “mcg” is not recognised but “microg” is.

Invalid Units of Measure

If you are unable to correctly calculate a dose you may be using a unit of measure that is not recognised by the system. Wherever possible, the correct units will be defaulted on the order sentence or will appear in the Infusion Instructions for your reference.

Correct Units of Measurement

Valid units of measure for eMM Note the “s” must be included for the unit to be recognised, but the parentheses can be omitted.
