Setting Correct Care Type During Admissions for Mental Health Patients

To assist users in ensuring that correct Care Type is assigned during Mental Health admissions, a few Warning Messages have been added within conversations to prompt users to correct the Care Type if it is assigned incorrectly.

Warning Message No. 1

msg 1

The Care Type for a patient in a Mental health Ward should always be Mental health.

If a user tries to change the Care Type to anything else (i.e. Acute), a Warning Message will prompt them to click Yes to automatically correct this.

Clicking Yes will default the Care Type to Mental health and close the conversation.

Warning Message No. 2

msg 2

Mental Health Care Type should also be assigned to a patient admitted in a non-Mental Health ward when the attending doctor has a specialty of Psychiatry.

By clicking Yes to the above Warning Message, the Care Type will default to Mental Health and the conversation will close.

Warning Message No. 3

msg 3

If a patient's Attending Doctor is updated during an admission and the specialty changes from Psychiatry to any other specialty, but the Care Type is not changed from Mental Health to an appropriate Care Type, the above Warning Message will appear.

By clicking Yes, the Care Type field will clear and user must select an appropriate Care Type.
