• As per MOH directive, each LHD across NSW Health will adopt the new State based Financial Classification codes for admitted patients. The project will reduce over 2000 local codes across the state down to 91.
• The streamlining of Financial Classifications will help with accurate data capture, reporting and aim to reduce revenue leakage.
• SCHN currently uses 97 classifications which will be consolidated into 46 new classifications.  These will need to be replaced with the new state based codes and descriptions.  The full list of codes and comparisons are available on from this site within the SCHN - Inpatient financial classification code
