Overview
There are separate notes types for Attendance and Medical Certificates.
The Attendance Certificate is for the use of all staff, to confirm attendance at a health service on a specific date.
The Medical Certificate is for the use of registered health service providers to support sick leave up to one week. Providers include:

Medical Officers
-
Dental Officers
-
Medical Radiation Practitioners
-
Nurse Practitioners
-
Physiotherapists
-
Psychologists
-
Occupational Therapists
-
Podiatrists
For periods of sick leave over one week, the medical certificate can ONLY be completed by a Medical Officer.
The auto text .medattendcert populates the text for both note types. Delete the section not applicable.

Attendance Certificate
In the Add Documentation screen
- Select Note Type: Attendance Certificate and Template: Letter
- If you do not see Attendance Certificate in the Type dropdown, change the Note Type List Filter from Personal to Position
- Type “.medattend” (with the .) and select the .medattendcert auto text

Acknowledge the pop up window

Delete the Medical Certificate section not required, leaving your name as Author
Medical Certificate
In the Add Documentation screen
- Select Note Type: Medical Certificate and Template: Letter
- If you do not see Medical Certificate in the Type dropdown, change the Note Type List Filter from Personal to Position
- Type “.medattend” (with the .) and select the .medattendcert auto text

Acknowledge the pop up window

Delete the Attendance Certificate section if not required
- Remember: ONLY a Medical Officer may complete a Medical Certificate for sick leave exceeding one week
Complete the note
Tip: place cursor at beginning of text and use F3 on keyboard to jump to the next placeholder
Print with correct template
- Select SCHN Attendance/Medical Certificate as template
Customise Note Types and Templates
Customise your Type dropdown to only contain the note types you require. Favourite your templates to also simplify the Template options. See Documentation - Customising Note Types and Templates
