Reinstituting a previous Resuscitation Plan

If a patient has had a Resuscitation Plan completed in a previous encounter, it will auto-discontinue on Discharge. On the patient's next admission, there will be a prompt to reinstate a Resuscitation Plan on the current encounter.

The 'Reinstitute Resuscitation Plan?' prompt window will display when the patient's chart is opened. Note that this prompt only displays for Medical Officers.

The Plan from the previous encounter must be viewed in order for the actions to become available.

discontinued on discharge

There are three action options:

  • Clicking Yes will open the Resuscitation Plan, where any updates can be made as needed and the Plan signed.
  • Clicking No, don't reinstate will present a window where the reason for not proceeding must be documented.
  • Clicking Not Now or Cancel dismisses the prompt until the next time the patient's chart is opened.
